According to Alberts, his side were weaker than usual due to the absence of three import players, Muamir Salibasic, Gabor Gyepes and Hassan El Mohamad, in the last few matches of MSL due to injuries.
Speaking to Bernama, Albersts said “When the foreign players are back, we will be much stronger, because they are good players, no doubt. I am looking forward to have the full team when the Malaysia Cup tournament starts.”
Alberts has given his players rest until July 7th, in order for them to recharge and get ready for the Malaysia Cup campaign.
Meanwhile, when commenting on their defeat to JDT, Alberts said he was satisfied with his team’s performance after playing without their key import players.
“The difference between us and them was they had their three foreign players playing, while we did not and that gave a huge impact to the team and the match,” he added.
Sarawak lost 0-1 to eventual champions JDT in Kuching and they finished their first season in MSL, after being promoted last season from the Premier League, in 8th spot out of 12 teams.
