Despite being relegated to the Premier-League for next season, the Terengganu state government has decided that they will not disband T-Team.
T-Team, who finished second last in the Super League, have been relegated together with PKNS FC, after they lost 1-0 to the LionsXII in their last game of the season.
The Chief Minister of Terengganu, Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman, stated that he will ask the Youth, Sports and Human Resources minister, Rozi Mamat, to give him a report in order for actions to be taken.
Razif also insisted that he will never stop supporting T-Team, including giving funds for the team for them to improve.
According to Bernama, Razif said “We will maintain the team so that it will be a platform for local players from this state to show their talent and expand their base.”
T-Team survived the MSL last year, but couldn’t maintain their spot in the league this season, and they now will face Negeri Sembilan for a spot in the Malaysia Cup tournament.
“By retaining T-Team, we can give any players from Terengganu a chance to showcase their ability and skills,” added Razif.
