Kelantan will have to fight in next match without their head coach George Boateng, as the Dutch coach must return to England for urgent matters.
Boateng, who took over from Steve Darby recently, will miss Kelantan's clash with Selangor in Kota Bharu this Tuesday as he needs to go back to England to settle his coaching certificate.
According to Bernama, Boateng said “I’ll be back for the game against Johor Darul Ta’zim but for now I have to return to England to settle a certificate for coaching. I realized this is a crucial moment as we are about to go into some big matches to determine our fate for the season, but I will constantly communicate with my players and staffs during my absence.”
Boateng stated that he will use the application WhatsApp to keep talking to the players and staff despite being thousands of miles away.
“We will communicate using WhatsApp group everyday and everything will still be the same even though I will not be with them physically,” he added.
Kelantan’s 1-0 defeat to Pahang saw them remain 6th in the table, two points above Sarawak, sharing the same points with Sime Darby FC who are in 5th place.
