Head coach of Pahang, Zainal Abidin Hassan, expressed his happiness after Pahang defeated Felda United 2-1 to win the FA Cup.
Dickson Nwakaeme scored the winner in the 88th minute, after Faizol Hussein had cancelled out Edward Wilson’s opener for Felda United in the second half.
Pahang, who are also the current Malaysia Cup holders, won the FA Cup for the second time in eight years and Zainal is clearly happy with that achievement.
According to Bernama, Zainal said “Felda United did well to cut off our long passes so that’s why they were able to take the lead in the first half and we were also slow to react.”
The introduction of Faizol Hussein in the second half clearly changed the game and Zainal praised the never-give up attitude shown by the players.
“Felda United deserve credit for their performance as well, and they are worthy to play in the MSL next season,” he added.
Meanwhile, Irfan Bakti believed that it was uncharacteristic mistakes that led to the goals but he was pleased with the overall performance
Pahang defeated Premier League outfit Felda United in the FA Cup final 2014 at Shah Alam Stadium, their second trophy in eight months after winning the Malaysia Cup last year.
