Pahang’s number one goalkeeper Khairul Azhan cannot wait to recover in order to face Johor Darul Ta’zim in their Super League match this Friday.
Khairul, who missed the game against Selangor last Saturday, is currently receiving treatment after he picked up an injury during a training session.
Speaking to Utusan, Ahan said “I was not able to play against Selangor but my injury was not that serious. I am currently receiving treatment and doing some light training, hoping that I will get better just before (the) JDT game.”
Azhan also added that Pahang will face a tough task against JDT as the home team will do whatever they can to collect three points and close the gap with the league leaders.
The Malaysian international also said that the team must show great determination to win, despite recently picking up a draw against the same opponent in the FA Cup semi-final.
“Every player must be ready mentally and physically in facing the home team’s attacking prowess, which promises (a) threat every time they come forward,” he added.
However, he insisted that if he doesn’t make it for this game, then he is confident that second goalkeeper Nasril Mat Nourdin can replace him capably.
