Pahang head coach Zainal Abidin Hassan does not want to dwell on the defeat against Selangor as he believes that his team can bounce back in their next game.
Pahang were defeated by Selangor on their own home ground by a scoreline of 0-1, courtesy of a goal from midfielder Andik Vermansyah, which saw the Elephants replaced at the top of the league by the Red Giants.
According to Bernama, Zainal said “It’s not the end as the season has a long way to go and we can redeem the loss by winning our next game.”
However, Zainal admitted that he was disappointed with his team’s finishing, as they spurred good scoring opportunities throughout the game.
Instead, it was Selangor who took advantage when Indonesian Andik scored in the 64th minute to give the visitors a crucial three points.
With the win, Selangor now lead the rest of the teams in the MSL, with 31 points from 15 matches, three points more than 2nd place Pahang, who have collected 28 points so far.
Pahang next travel to Larkin to face JDT in their MSL clash, before facing the same opponent once again but in Kuantan, for their 2nd leg FA Cup semi-final.
