The Malaysia Super League (MSL) match between LionsXII and Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) that was scheduled for today, has been moved to May 20 to accommodate for the charity friendly match between ASEAN All Stars and Indonesia national team in Jakarta on May 10. This fixture has already been changed once from May 10 to May 13, but JDT requested for longer time to allow for their players to recuperate from the exertions of this charity match.
The charity match is played to collect funds for the victims of the typhoon Haiyan that struck the Philippines last November. The ASEAN All Stars will be under the guidance of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general , Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin and will be coached by Datuk K. Rajagopal. Five JDT players have been selected for this duty and they are Amri Yahyah, Mahalli Jasuli, Aidil Zafuan, Safiq Rahim and Safee Sali.
JDT’s last MSL match was on April 18 and their next match will now be against the Pahang on May 16 at home. It will be a familiar match up seeing that both side also met in the FA Cup semifinal fixture earlier this week. As for LionsXII, they will travel to Kuala Terengganu to play Terengganu on the same day.
