Going into this game, PKNS will need to recapture their form as they have only picked up one point from their last three games, which came in their last game against Selangor. The Red Ants inconsistent performances have cost them a lot of points this season, especially in defence, where they have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last six games, during which they have conceded 11 goals. They only team that have conceded more goals than them is ATM and Sime Darby.

Upfront, PKNS must once again rely on Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh and their wonderkid Nazmi Faiz, who will operate from midfield, in order to break down international-class defenders of Johor Darul Ta’zim. While defensively they need to fix their weaknesses at the back as soon as possible, as any tiny mistakes made by them will surely be punished by the JDT forwards.

For the visitors, they have only lost once in the past 8 games, which was against Terengganu, and recently their forwards have been ruthless in front of goal. Whoever Cesar Jimenez starts upfront, be it Luciano, Norshahrul or Safee Sali, the Southern Tigers seemingly always find the back of the net.

They have scored 20 goals in 10 games, and those goals have helped them win games so freely after their slow start of the season.  With their form picking up they are now sitting fourth in the table, only four points behind league leaders Pahang.

However, going into this game, JDT have only recorded two away wins in the league and have three defeats from their five games away from Larkin this season, and this will surely give Jimenez something to think about. Their central defenders, either Baihakki, Aidil or Fadhli, must be at the top of their game to prevent Patrick, while Harriss Harun and Shakir Ali must be on their guard all the time to prevent Nazmi from having too much freedom in the middle.
