Kelantan 1-2 JDT
Billed as the clash that could very well decide the destiny of the Super League title, the match failed to live up to its billing. Kelantan and Johor Darul Takzim cancelled each other out for most parts of the game and that didn't make for fantastic viewing for the neutrals.
For the two goals that were scored in this match, it was down to defensive errors. But the opening goal of the game had a touch of class to it. Mohamad Ghaddar picked up the ball in the middle of the pitch and played a beautiful one-two pass with Fakri Saarani before slamming home Kelantan's only goal of the game.
It was about precision and anticipation. Fakri's role in it cannot be undervalued. That flick was just right for Ghaddar to latch on. It was just the remedy that the dour game called for.
Ghaddar grew in confidence after scoring, constantly taking on JDT players and keeping them on their back foot. Almost single-handedly spearing Kelantan's attacks. However, even him in form wasn't enough to find another goal for the home side.
Forkey Doe was left on the bench for this one but if based on the evidence of this match alone, it is obvious the qualities that Ghaddar brings to the side. The ability to conjur something out of nothing.
