With the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) congress meeting coming up in May, there are rumours that TMJ wants to fight for the post of President.  However he has stated that only the members of the committee have the right to decide who should challenge the post.

According to Utusan, when asked about the issue, TMJ stated that “You should ask the committee members who deserve to compete, it’s not my decision and you have to ask them.”

Recently, Kelantan Football Association’s (KAFA) president Tan Sri Annuar Musa stated that he believes Tunku Ismail is the right man to lead the FAM.

However TMJ did not deny that the possibility of him challenging for the post in the next session, which would be from 2014 until 2018.

Annuar also recently revealed that TMJ told him that he is ready for the post, and he will challenge the post for the sake of the country’s football.

TMJ was seen by many as the perfect candidate after he successfully transformed Johor Darul Ta’zim from a small club to become one of the best teams in the country, as well managing to attract some of the finest footballers to come and play for the team, such as Pablo Aimar.
