Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) advisor Tan Sri Annuar Musa has revealed that TMJ is ready to fight for the FAM Presidential post, to replace the current President
The President of Johor Football Association (JFA), Tengku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim (TMJ), has stated his interest in challenging for the Presidential post of the Fooball Association of Malaysia (FAM).
KAFA advisor Tan Sri Annuar Musa revealed through his Facebook account that TMJ is ready to compete for the post during the FAM congress meeting in May.
According to Annuar, he said “When I asked my friends from other states’ association, most of them said that they are not ready to fight for the president’s post. But when I asked TMJ, he told me that he is ready, for the sake of the country’s football."
Annuar recently suggested that TMJ should fight for the post, and even stated that he would run for the post if he is eligible. However, he is currently suspended from any footballing activities for two years and six months after breaching FAM’s Article 88.
“This is the spirit that we want. Football activists in the country cannot just sit down and keep complaining about the performance of our football team without taking the responsibility to fix it,” he added.
Questions on who will challenge for the presidential post is the topic on Malaysian football fans lips right now, however there is still no news on whether the current President, Sultan Ahmad Shah, wants to compete or not.
It would not be a surprise if TMJ decided to challenge for the post as a lot of people have acknowledged his work in Johor Darul Ta’zim's revival as a club, where they are now one of the top football teams in Malaysia right now.
Other than the President’s post, two slots for Vice President, four for Deputy President, and 10 exco member spots will also be up for grabs during the congress meeting, which is scheduled to be held on the 25th of May.
