Newly appointed national under-19 head coach, Hassan Sazali expressed his delight at seeing three of his players – Muhamad Arif Muhamad Anwar, Amirul Hasyim and Muhammad Jafri Muhammad Firdaus promoted to Ong Kim Swee’s Harimau Muda team and has pledged to develop more players.
“The FAM League is a stepping stone for my players to get more experience and also to be promoted to the under-22 squad,” Hassan told Astro Arena.
Hassan’s charges who are comprised of players under the age of 17 were narrowly beaten 3-2 by KL MOF FC in the FAM League opener on Sunday. The former assistant coach to Kim Swee however was adamant that it was a positive result for his fledglings.
“It was a positive performance by the players who had to chase the game and eventually score two goals,” he added.
Harimau Muda C is set for a stint in the Slovakian under-19 league once the FAM League finishes in July this year.
