KJ urges FAM to settle the T-Team and JDT issues

The Youth and Sports Minister wants the issue between the two teams be taken seriously by FAM and to resolve it as soon as possible.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has urged the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to quickly resolve the on-going issue between Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and T-Team.

The incident that occured in Larkin Stadium caused T-Team players and officials to swear on the Al-Quran and according to KJ this proves that the issue is very serious.

According to Bernama, KJ said, “I do not know what happened or who was involved but when there are people who decided to swear upon the Al-Quran, it means this issue is a serious matter and it cannot be taken lightly. The culprit must be punished and there should be no bias, fear or favour.”

KJ also insisted that FAM must take serious action and he will contact Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin to ensure that the right actions have been taken.

“I will contact Datuk Hamidin to inform him regarding this and the FAM must charge those who are involved. If they failed to do so, its credibility will be at stake,” he added.

Khairy also added that the FAM needs to tighten up more security to ensure safety of the crowd and to avoid unnecessary problems.

“Parents bring their children to watch football matches and if the fans react aggressively, it would be very dangerous,” he said.

Another incident involving the fans happened between the fans of JDT and Pahang as they were involved in a fight which caused a few injuries to fans during the fight.
