Abdul Rahman Ibrahim, head coach of Terengganu, has admitted that Terengganu have not reached their true potential yet even though they defeated Selangor PKNS 2-1 at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium.
In his first game in charge of Terengganu, he had to face Selangor PKNS, his former team, and two goals from import player Mamadou Barry gave Terengganu the crucial three points.
According to Astro Arena, Abdul Rahman said “We may be good tactically but in terms of our performance, we’re not that good yet.”
Abdul Rahman also added that the pressure by Selangor PKNS made life tough for them, despite playing at home.
“I hope this win can give us some breathing space for them to gain more confidence and play a lot better in future games,” he added.
His sentiment was also shared by his new striker Norfarhan Mohamad, with the former Kelantan player commenting that he and his teammates are still looking the right rhythm and the right combination together.
Terengganu is one of five teams to collect full points in the first round of fixtures in the MSL 2014, others include JDT, Kelantan, Selangor and Pahang.
