Safee Sali: I want to be better in 2014

The JDT striker is determined to find his form in the new season after suffering from a disappointing year in 2013 for both club and country.

After suffering from a disappointing year in 2013, national and Johor Darul Ta'zim striker Safee Sali is determined to make 2014 a better year.

Safee has set sights on three main goals for this year, including to be happy with his second marriage.

According to him, other than being happy in his personal life, he wants to contribute more to Johor Darul Ta'zim after last season’s failure due to injuries and drop of form.

Injuries had kept him on sidelines and he also failed to shine whenever he was given a chance to play.

Another goal in the new year for the 30-year-old is to keep his place in the national team.

Datuk Ong Kim Swee is the current interim coach for the national team and Safee is hoping that he will be able to impress the new boss and reclaim his place upfront for the team.

According to Utusan, Safee said,“I will use what happened in the past as a lesson for my future journey.”

The former Selangor and Pelita Jaya striker recently renewed his contract with JDT and the 2010 AFF Suzuki top scorer admitted that he has to do his best in order to regain more confidence and be at his best once again.
