Kelantan fullback Nik Shahrul Azim is determined to give his best in the Malaysia Super League (MSL) next season as soon as he recovers from his knee injury.
He also revealed to Sinar Harian that his injuries are recovering well and he only needs a little more time to fully recover from it. “I need to work extra hard in order to regain back my confidence and to catch new coach Steve Darby’s attention.”
The 22-year-old admitted that the challenge for the starting defensive position will be tougher next season due to the arrival of new players most notably Nazri Ahmad from Johor Darul Ta'zim, who plays in the same position.
“Yes there will be a fight for a place in the first team because we have new players in the team but it’s a healthy competition between us in order to win trophies,” he added.
Nik Shahrul is one of the top performing Kelantan players last season and he also believed that the striking duo of Mohamad Ghaddar and Francis Forkey Doe will be a tough one for any defenders to face next season.
