The issue regarding former Johor Darul Takzim defender Nazri Ahmad will finally come to an end after both the Selangor Football Association (FAS) and the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) have decided to resolve the matter peacefully.
According to Rosman Mohd Ibrahim, the secretary-general of the FAS, his side have received a letter from the KAFA, who wish to resolve the situation without bringing the matter to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
Sinar Harian reported that Rosman said “The letter that stated KAFA’s intention was received a few days ago and we will consider it. We also have forwarded this matter to the Vice President of FAS, Datuk Mokhtar Ahmad, and we will await any advice from him. For now all I can say is for the sake of the players and the team, we want to resolve this issue peacefully as well.”
Rosman insisted that right now they want to focus on preparing the players for next season, as well as completing any registration procedures that have been set up by the FAM.
The story with Nazri Ahmad started when he was reportedly signed with Selangor for the 2014 season. However, the defender surprised everyone when he attended Kelantan’s announcement ceremony, and was presented as one of their new signings for 2014.
Both the KAFA and FAS want this issue to be resolved quickly so that they can move on and focus on their upcoming Malaysia Super League campaigns.
