Amar Rohidan, one of the new signings for The Red Warriors, realizes that he has a huge task ahead of him, as he seeks to gain the trust and faith of the Kelantan supporters when he plays for the team next season.
Rohidan, who has often been criticised for his poor performances with the national team in the past, is determined to look at it positively and insisted that he is ready to win over Kelantan fans.
Speaking to Sinar Harian, Amar said “It was hard for me to refuse when I was given a chance to play with Kelantan, but at the same time I take this as a big challenge for me. Like it or not, I have to prove to the fans that my arrival here is not for nothing and I have to work hard to give the best I can.”
Amar, who played for Felda Utd last season, was one of the new signings made by Kelantan after several of their midfield players such as Shakir Shaari, Zairo Anuar, and Faiz Subri departed for other teams.
The Kedah-born player admitted that his job is not just to impress the fans, but he also needs to impress head coach Steve Darby if he wants to play regularly for the FA Cup champions.
“There are a lot of players who can play in my position. There is no guarantee and I have to compete as always with other players. If I work hard, maybe the coach will pick me,” he added.
Amar Rohidan is one of 10 players who have joined Kelantan for the 2014 season.
