Sydney FC's Matthew Thompson may sign for Kedah

Reports suggests that David Mitchell, the new Kedah head coach, is looking at Matthew Thompson of Sydney FC to strengthen his team for next season.

Rumours on social network sites regarding Sydney FC's Matthew Thompson have been widespread lately as new Kedah head coach David Stuart Mitchell seemingly views him as the right type of player to play for the Canaries next season.

Many fans believe that the player is hot on Kedah’s radar and if there are no major problems, they expect him to play for Kedah next season.

"We would not comment much further, but what I can say is that Thompson may arrive in Alor Setar in the near future," Ramon told Sinar Harian.

Thompson used to represent Australia in 2009 and 2010, and other than him, players from Poland and the Netherlands are also trying out for Mitchell’s squad.

In the meantime Kedah have confirmed that Khyril Muhymeen and Baddrol Bakhtiar will remain at the club next season.
