The Malaysian national team gaffer spoke of his delight with his team's spirited fightback against Bahrain
National coach Datuk K. Rajagopal was all smiles after seeing his charges rally from behind to secure a pivotal draw against Bahrain in their Asia Cup 2015 qualifier.
"I think this is our best match so far. The players showed plenty of commitment and should have come away with all three points, but a point against Bahrain is still very encouraging. They can hold their heads up high," enthused Rajagopal during the post match conference.
The wily tactician singled out goalscorer Norhsharul Idlan Talaha for praise saying,"Norshahrul played superbly tonight."
Rajagopal also took a dig at those who criticized his team selection, "Everyone says I experiment, I really don't know where this word came from. When a player is injured, another player has to replace him. Mahali is injured, so Reuben has to replace him. If you don't give these players a chance, they will not be able to prove themselves."
Bahrain's English coach Anthony Hudson on the other hand played down suggestions that his team threw the game away, "We've had injuries which changed the outcome of the match. It is a good point for us as Malaysia who are the home side, should have won this match."
The Malayan Tigers will play against Bahrain at the Bahrain National Stadium on November 15.
