FAM received no report regarding the incident between Indra Putra and Norshahrul and therefore, they would not take any action against the Kelantan veteran.
Indra Putra Mahayuddin, who was accused of deliberately elbowing Johor Darul Takzim and Malaysia international striker, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha during their quarterfinal clash last week, will not be punished by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
The secretary-general of the FAM, Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, said that the 32-year-old will not be punished as no reports were submitted to the association by the match officials regarding the incident.
Datuk Hamidin, who was speaking during the press conference at Wisma FAM earlier said: "We have received the report for the match but there was no mention on the incident.
"In fact, both teams did not send any report, so for now, no action will be taken against Indra."
Indra Putra was reportedly due to receive punishments from the FAM after he was accused of elbowing Norshahrul during the game.
Following the incident, Norshahrul missed the clash against the UAE.
Indra Putra, however, denied that he deliberately hurt the former Kelantan striker.
