FAM looking to revise M-League teams' annual grant

The Football Association of Malaysia are trying to get more sponsors so that they can revise the annual grant for the M-League teams next season

M-League teams may receive a revised annual budget next season.

However, Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Vice-president, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said that the amount will also depend on the sponsorship the association gets.

According to Sinar Harian, Tengku Abdullah said: "If we get a lot of sponsors, I really hope we can share more with the all the teams in the M-League."

Tengku Abdullah commented on the issue when he was asked about the big spending teams, who spent more than MYR10 million in one season in order to sign professional players to play for them.

He also added that other than the annual grant for the teams competing in the Malaysian Super League and Premier League, a big chunk of the sponsorship will also being used for the national team's expenditure.

He admitted that FAM are currently trying to find a way to attract more sponsors so more money can be distributed among the teams.

Usually, Super League teams will receive MYR350,000 grant while Premier League teams will receive MYR250,000 grant every season.
