The Chief Minister of Terengganu, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, has warned the new President of the Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) to find high-calibre players for the Turtles in their 2014 Malaysian Super League (MSL) campaign.
Wan Ahmad Nizam, who replaced Datuk Che Mat Jusoh after holding the position for more than 14 years, will have a huge task in fulfilling the Chief Minister’s orders.
According to Bernama, Ahmad Said was quoted saying: "I have warned him to choose the best import players only, and they already went to Croatia and Bosnia to find players.
"I also told them not to rely on agents or video footage only when looking for the right player.
"I told him if he chose the wrong players, there will be dire consequences."
Terengganu finished at the bottom half of the table in the MSL this season, with their import players seemingly not doing a good enough job to secure a better league place.
They are also struggling in their 2013 Malaysia Cup campaign and they could drop out of the tournament if they lose their next game.
