The Harimau Muda tactician is determined to see his men win the Merdeka Tournament, which is scheduled to start next month in Pahang
The Young Tigers will be representing Malaysia in the tournament, which is making a return after a four year hiatus, and Kim Swee is hoping for his boys to make the nation proud in the prestigious competition.
"Our mission is to reclaim back the Merdeka Tournament. It is a very prestigious tournament during my playing days," he told reporters.
Nonetheless, Harimau Muda will head into the tournament without several players who are injured, including Gary Steven Robbat. Having said that, Kim Swee went on to add that all the players are currently recovering and that they should be back in time for the SEA Games.
"Izzat, Syahir, Syafiq, and Garry (all injured) are on the right track to recovery. Hopefully they'll be back by October before the SEA Games," he added.
Merdeka Tournament will be kicking off on the 7th of September, with Harimau Muda set to open their campaign against the Singapore U-23 side.
