PKNS FC coach, Haji Abdul Rahman, was delighted with the way his team played and was grateful that their efforts finally paid off.
Patrick Ronaldinho scored two goals to give them the win, but it was a collective effort by the Red Ants that won them the clash against Johor Darul Takzim, according to Abdul Rahman.
Speaking to the reporters after the game, Rahman said: "This is the reward for our effort and hard work since the start of Ramadhan, where we already know who our opponents would be.
"So we have planned from the beginning to prevent JDT from scoring against us."
Abdul Rahman also praised his players for successfully executing the game plan, which was to stop JDT’s attacking trio.
"We are happy that our strategy to stop Azwan Roya, Norshahrul and Nunez was successful and that was the key to our success," he added.
PKNS FC made a flying start to their Malaysia Cup campaign by beating one of the tournament favourites, Johor Darul Takzim, 2-0 at home courtesy of a brace from Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh.
