Irfan Bakti is relying on his veteran striker, Amri Yahyah, as well as Forkey Doe to go through the 2013 Malaysian Cup campaign
Selangor Head Coach, Irfan Bakti, will hope that Amri Yahyah and Forkey Doe can score goals for Selangor during the Malaysia Cup campaign next week.
According to him, Amri’s performance during his international duty against Barcelona was amazing and he wants the veteran striker to replicate that performance for the Red Giants.
Speaking to Sinar Harian, Irfan said: "Of course I am proud to see Amri score against one of the best clubs in the world.
"I hope he can continue the momentum for Selangor and forget his success with the national team.
"I want him to stay focused and play as a team when we meet Johor FA at Pasir Gudang this Tuesday."
Meanwhile, he predicted that every team in Group A will have a fair chance to qualify for the quarterfinals and there will be no favourites.
"Although Sime Darby and Johor FA are from the Malaysian Premier League, we cannot take them lightly, and ATM will surely be a tough team to beat, but I believe that we can go through the group stages and proceed to the quarterfinals,” he added.
The Red Giants are on a "Mission 33" after lifting the trophy for the 32ndtime in 2005.
