Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) skipper, Kamarul Afiq Kamaruddin, believes his team have what it takes to go all the way to the Malaysia Cup final this season.
According to the central defender, he said he was confident of achieving their goals after some very good and intensive training spells ever since the Malaysian Super League concluded earlier this month.
Speaking to Bernama, Kamarul said: "I hope JDT will enter the final this year.
"With careful preparation, I feel we can meet our target of reaching the final."
Kamarul was speaking after the Malaysia Cup draw on Saturday, which saw the Southern Tigers drawn into Group B, alongside Selangor PKNS FC, T-Team and play-off winners Felda United FC.
"For me, whoever we face in the group will be determined to beat us and we will be ready to face them.
"What’s more important is for us to give our best performance in the group stages so we can qualify for the next round," he added.
The Malaysia Cup will kick off on August 20th and the Football Association of Malaysia have retained the format of the best two teams from each group qualifying for the quarter-finals.
