Having wanted to avoid the ‘Group of Death’ this year, Kelantan have again been drawn into a tough group in the 2013 Malaysia with Pahang and Terengganu
The long-awaited 2013 Malaysia Cup draw concluded this evening seeing defending champions Kelantan drawn into the proverbial ‘Group of Death’.
The Red Warriors have been placed into Group C along with Pahang, Terengganu and Negeri Sembilan.
Bojan Hodak’s side will see a piece of histroy repeat itself after they were also drawn into the same group as the Tok Gajah last year.
In another interesting draw, both the Malaysian Super League and Malaysian Premier League champions, LionsXII and Sarawak will go head-to-head in Group D in what would also be a tough group.
Johor Darul Takzim however, will have a good chance of progressing to the quarter-finals after being drawn into group labled as the easiest one.
Joining the Southern Tigers will be PKNS FC, T-Team and Felda United.
Towards the end of the ceremony, Marlon Alex James (ATM) and Karlo Primorac (Sime Darby) received the Golden Boot award for the MSL and MPL respectively.
The second placed teams in both leagues, Selangor and Sime Darby also received their awards.
The 2013 Malaysia Cup will kickoff with the first round of matches on August 1 and conclude with the final on November 3 at the Shah Alam Stadium.
