Pahang midfielder, Azamuddin Akil urges his teammates to work together to reach the Malaysia Cup final this season
Azzamudin Akil (Alex) is already dreaming of playing in the Malaysia Cup final despite the fact that the competition is still a month away from kickoff.
According to the 28-year-old, it will be a great achievement for the club if they manage to reach the final.
Speaking to Sinar Harian, Azzamudin Akil said: "Our target is to go all the way to the finals.
"We know it’s hard, but with the commitment of all the players, we can achieve our goals.
"We do not want to look back and we cannot wait to start playing in the [Malaysia Cup]."
Alex, who had just returned from injury, said that his side want to recover from failing to make it into the FA Cup final after losing to Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) in the semi-final last May.
"It will be tough because big teams like Kelantan, LionsXII, Selangor and JDT are all in their top form and we will have to work hard to overcome them," he added.
The last time Pahang won the Malaysia Cup was 11 years ago, where they beat Kedah in the final.
