Kelantan skipper Badri Radzi and Pahang flanker Azamuddin Akil are both set to miss Malaysia's clash against Chelsea on the 21st of August, after both players were dropped out of the national team set-up due to injuries.
Both men came off a great season in the Malaysia Super League, where Piya inspired Kelantan to win the FA Cup, while Azamuddin was pivotal in Pahang's first season back in the Super League. However, it now appears that King Raja will have to make do without them in their upcoming matches.
As a result, ATM midfielder Christie Jayaseelan and Sarawak's Junior Eldstal have been called up as replacements for those duo.
Christie is known to be a very hardworking winger, who constantly bombs up and down the flank, while Junior Eldstal is a creative midfielder who tends to be industrious in the middle of the park. The latter in particular, had a terrific season for the Crocs in the Malaysian Premier League and this call-up comes as no surprise at all.
Malaysia's next match is against Thailand league side Chonburi FC, before they finally take on Chelsea on the 21st of July.
