Selangor Head Coach, Irfan Bakti, believes that the Red Giants can finish in the top two of the league after their win against ATM
Selangor Head Coach, Irfan Bakti, believes that the Red Giants are on the right track of chasing second place in the Malaysian Super League after defeating ATM 2-1 at the Shah Alam stadium on Friday evening.
However, according to Sinar Harian, Irfan has urged his forces to work harder in their next three games so that they will finish the season in good form, and more importantly in second place.
Irfan Bakti said: "[The] players’ mentality is still weak, but we have to tell them that we must [get] at least three wins or a draw from our remaining fixture.
"This result [against ATM] has certainly opened up our chances to challenge for second or third spot, but it all depends on our next game."
Irfan also voiced out his relief that Selangor managed to record a win without their main striker, Francis Forkey Doe.
"I think this is a fair result for us, when we conceded in the first half, we managed to return with the winning goal in the second half.
"Our style of play was not looking good, we were too aggressive and made stupid mistakes," he added.
Selangor remain in fourth place, level on points with ATM but separated by goal difference.
