A 5-1 loss to MFK Ruzomberok was Ong Kim Swee’s Young Tigers’ eighth defeat in 11 games in Europe as they prepare for the World University Games next month in Kazan, Russia
Ong Kim Swee’s (OKS) Young Tigers fell to yet another defeat on their European Tour last Sunday against Slovakian club side, MFK Ruzomberok.
Rozaimi Abdul Rahman scored the consolation for his side in the 81st minute but it was not enough to cancel out goals from Ruzomberok’s Mukalenga Lewis (20’), Richard Bartos (56’), Martin Nagy (60’, 70’) and Janso (62’).
The massive 5-1 mauling is the eighth loss for Harimau Muda ‘A’ after having played 11 games in the continent thus far.
OKS revealed on his Twitter page that a change of strategy by MFK Ruzomberok in the second period was the cause of the crushing defeat.
He wrote: “A positive approach and good movements restricted [MFK Ruzomberok] from taking a healthy lead in the first half but a number of changes saw them score four goals in the second period.”
The Young Tigers are currently on a five-month tour of Europe to train and prepare for their SEA Games gold medal defence in Myanmar this December.
Before they return to Malaysia, the boys will be participating in the 2013 World University Games from July 6-17 in Kazan, Russia.
They have been on tour since March and will be expected to come home before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations on August 8.
Hariamua Muda ‘A’ will also be expected to participate in the Merdeka Cup scheduled to take place from September 4-15.
