Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, will write to Presidents of all Football Associations in the country to create an Integrity Committee to curb match-fixing
Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, wants all Football Associations (FA) in the country to have an Integrity Committee in order to prevent match-fixing from spreading.
He said that he will personally write letters to all the FA's who are functioning without such a committee to start one as soon as possible.
According to Bernama, he said: "Most of the state Football Associations are yet to have such a committee.
"This is not an issue of the Sports Ministry disrupting the FA’s administration, but this is involving a crime that is ruining our football and the country’s image.
"This Committee will be the channel for the players, and the officials to give details regarding any match-fixing cases."
Khairy, who was recently appointed as the new minister for Youth and Sports, said that bookies are now focusing on the new players rather than the senior players, especially those who are from the football academy looking to have a luxurious life.
