thumbnail Hello,

The national team may organise friendlies with high-grade teams from Australia or South Korea if Singapore cancel the games with Malaysia this June

The Malaysia national team may have to make alternate plans in June as the two-legged Causeway Challenge against the neighbours and rivals Singapore has yet to be confirmed, despite the fact that the meatch is supposed to take place in two weeks.

According to Sports.247.my, Malaysia may not have a friendly match as the Football Association of Singapore had not confirmed the dates with the Football Association of Malaysia yet.

National team manager Datuk Subahan Kamal said: "The team will go for a short stint to South Korea or Australia if we are unable to play Singapore.

"We need to arrange for opponents as well in those countries.

"We’re expecting Singapore to revert within the next two days as they seem to have different priorities."

Subahan has assured that Harimau Malaya will play only against high-grade teams in South Korea or Australia.

"We will make sure that everything is proper.

"We have to play credible teams," he added.

The national team will report to coach Datuk K. Rajagopal on May 29.

Subahan has also confirmed a series of friendlies for the national team, including the match against the Europa League Winners Chelsea and La Liga Champions Barcelona later this year.
