T-Team's assistant coach, Che Ku Marzuki, will replace Peter Butler as the new head coach of the Titans
Malaysian Super League (MSL) strugglers T-Team have appointed assistant coach Che Ku Marzuki as their new head coach, replacing the controversial Peter Butler after his contract was reportedly terminated.
It was the Kuala Terengganu District Football Association President, Mohamed Sekanther Abdul Hamid, who broke the news, explaining that Butler was likely to be terminated after a meeting between the respective sides.
Speaking to Bernama, Sekanther said: “We have discussed with Butler and reached an agreement today.”
Sekanter also added that the appointment of Che Ku was expected after a lot of uncertainty and rumours spreading around the future of the T-Team.
Che Ku Marzuki is not new to the job, as before this, he was the T-Team coach from 2007-10 before being replaced by Yunus Alif in 2010. This season, Butler took over from Yunus, but has failed to deliver good results and had a poor relationship with the management.
T-Team are currently struggling in the MSL, occupying the 11th spot in the league and have only recorded three victories in 17 games.
