Admitting his disappointment with the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) decision to suspend his two players, Selangor head coach, Irfan Bakti, that said he has to be professional and accept the decision with an open heart.
According to Irfan, his side are taking the suspension as another challenge for them in chasing the Malaysian Super League title.
"I am a bit disappointed with the punishment given to my two players.
"But, we have to face that fact and take it as a challenge.
"I also hope that both players can learn from this lesson," said Irfan told Sinar Harian.
Two Red Giants' players, Afiq Azmi and Abdul Shukor Jusoh, were punished by the FAM after they were caught up in an incident involving ATM players in their FA Cup clash last January.
Mohd Afiq has been suspended for two matches and has to pay a RM1,000 fine while Abdul Shukor also received a two game suspension, but has to pay a RM2,000 fine.
However, Irfan is still optimistic about Selangor’s chances in beating league leaders LionsXII when the two meet at the Shah Alam Stadium.
"Our mission for this match is to take three points, and the return of Forkey Doe is definitely going to give a huge boost in attacking front," he added.
