Apart from revenge, Da Nang will have something much bigger to fight for against Kelantan; they need to get at least one point from the match to stay in this competition.

Without two of their key players in Kota Bharu during the humiliated defeat, coach head Le Huynh Duc might be fielding both of them for the clash tomorrow. The left winger, Quoc Anh can be the thorn in Kelantan’s side. He is in the Vietnam national team and has already scored once against UAE in the Asian Cup Qualifiers.

Upfront for Da Nang look to be the duo of Melo and Mrwand. Despite the dramatic lost last week, they have done well to attack Khairul Fahmi’s goal. After facing Kelantan’s solid defence, they look to prepare several tricks to beat the Malaysian side.

Although Da Nang have the advantage of playing in their fortress, Le Huynh Duc stated that he still had problems in selecting his best eleven for this match.

“We traveled and played so many matches. We will adjust depending on the events of that match,” he said to the media during the pre-match press conference.

On the other half of the field, visiting Kelantan look to extend their lead in the group to highten their chance to progress to the second round. Bojan Hodak, in his statement to the media, asserted that he will not take this match lightly even though he already outclassed the V-League champions last week.

“We don’t understand what their target is in the AFC Cup but Kelantan will come here to win,” he said.

However, Hodak made some shocking changes by dropping Shakir Shaari and captain Badhri Radzi, who played an important role during the win in Kota Bharu last week. Daudsu Jamaludin and Zamri Ramli will also be left out of the match. According to their media officer, Mr. Zuki, they will be rested for the MSL match against ATM on April 13.

With the players left out, the visitors still shouldn’t have problems replacing the midfield with Indraputra Mahyuddin and the Croatian, Lek Kcira. Supersub, Norfarhan Mohd and Faiz Subri would likely be playing in the flanks.

In the attacking third, Dickson Nwakaeme and Dimitri Petratos look to be Hodak’s choice. Most of the Kelantan players have experience playing against the V-League champions, SHB Da Nang. They should have no problems in containing the Vietnamese.

During the pre match press conference, Hodak cynically said: “SHB Da Nang were the V-League champions last season.

“They are one of the best teams in Vietnam.

“In the first leg, they didn’t have the strongest squad and played so bad.

“In my opinion, Da Nang is either not interested in the AFC Cup or they are calculating for easier matches with Myanmar and Maldives’ clubs.”

This will be a great match between two champions; Malaysians and the Vietnamese. The home crowd has been waiting to watch the battle between their champion and the team that trashed them 5-0 last week.
