thumbnail Hello,

Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, wants the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to quickly find a solution to the national team's dipping form.

The Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, believes a solution needs to be found as soon as possible before the nation's number one sport gains a bad image amongst the fans.

Once described as a giant of Asia, Shabery voiced his concern after watching a near deserted stadium during Malaysia's recent friendly against Saudi Arabia.

According to Astro Arena, Shabery said that a quick solution has to be made if the nation wants to avoid further drifting out from the international scene.

Malaysia is currently in 164th place in FIFA rankings, the worst since January of last year.

The national team are also in danger of being knocked out from AFC Cup qualifications if their poor form continues.

They lost to Qatar in the first AFC Cup qualifying game last February.

Malaysia are set to face Yemen in their second qualifier, but they are expecting to face a tough time after their 4-1 loss to Saudi Arabia last sunday.
