Shabery wants FAM to review the quality of refereeing

Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek wants the FAM to review the quality of refereeing in the country after seeing lots of players receive red cards
According to Shabery Cheek, many are doubting the quality of referees this season after witnessing the dismissal of several players, leading to certain people, including fans, to criticise the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

"I am worried if too many players are sent off only because they made tiny mistakes, after this there will not be any players to join the league," Shabery told Bernama.

Shabery strongly urged that his side are not criticising the referees decisions, but he just wants the FAM to review the quality of the refereeing as a whole.

Many have critcised the FAM due to the bad refereeing, including fans and most notably the President of Johor Football Association, Tunku Ismal Sultan Ibrahim, who received a six month ban and an RM18,000 fine for his comment towards the referees.
