Fandi Ahmad’s forces will march into Shah Alam as favourites to win this tie. Johor Darul Takzim have been putting on stellar performances after coming back twice - at Kedah in the FA Cup and at home against Negeri Sembilan. Dani Guiza, the Southern Tigers’ top scorer, will be looking to add more goals to his name after he made the promise of netting 50 this season. However, the Red Giants’ custodian Norazlan Razali has been in top form as of late, saving Selangor from embarrassing defeats and will be stopping the Spaniard at all costs.
Irfan Bakti’s men still crave for the summit of the Malaysian Super League table and a win against Darul Takzim would see them take the first position if ATM fail to get three points when they visit Perak. As the draw at Kuala Terengganu suggests, Selangor still have a lot of work to do to consolidate their defence. T-Team were all over them and would have won if not for Norazlan's heroics between the posts. And, Peter Chrappan is still jocking for position in the defence as he is clearly not up to parr with Ramez Dayoub.
In the history books, Selangor have trumped the Johor side in their last three meetings but that was before the overhaul for the Southern Tigers at the beginning of the 2013 season. There will be goals in this tie but not too many as both sides will be fielding a strong backline to account for failures to keep clean sheets.
