Kelantan Football Association's (KAFA) advisor, Tan Sri Annuar Musa, wrote in a Facebook post saying that it is not too late for the members of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to make changes to Article 88 which limits the freedom of its members to criticise the FAM.
"The members of the FAM through the power of the congress can make the changes while the leaders can review the statute and rules," Annuar said.
According to Sinar Harian, the KAFA advisor said that this can only be done if they follow the right process and procedures.
He also added that it is time for the repective Presidents who are members of the FAM to unite.
"There is no need to be afraid, it is not too late, and it is better than nothing," he conceded.
A few of the presidents of football associatons in the country have been punished by FAM for breaching Article 88, including Annuar himself.
The latest to be punished is Perlis Football Associaton President, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, who received a 30-month ban and a RM39,000 fine for criticising FAM.
Article 88 states that only the president and the general-secretary of the FAM can make statements regarding the national squad and the association's management.
