The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to call the players who were involved in the incident during their first round of FA Cup match before making any decisionAccording to the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) discplinary committee President, Datuk Taufek Abd Razak, they wish to speak to the players who were involved in the incident before any final decisions are made regarding punishments.
Apparently, a fight broke out amongst the players in ATM's dugout after their first round FA Cup game concluded. Selangor's striker, Afiq Azmi was said to have provoked the opposition bench before being hit by ATM players. The Red Giants won that game after a penalty shootout.
Speaking to Sinar Harian, Taufek said: "We have discussed the issues regarding ATM-Selangor and we tried to identify the few players who were involved in the incident. This case might take a little longer to be resolved as it involves players from both teams. We might need some time as we need to call the players to find out what actually happened that day."
However, Taufek reaffirmed that the necessary punishments will be made to the players who were involved in the ugly incident. Before this, FAM has received comments from Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, for their delayed decision regarding this matter.
