Selangor will be stomping into their Malaysian Super League (MSL) round seven clash with ATM on very high note after defeating their arch-rivals Kelantan 2-0 last time out. Irfan Bakti’s hot imports, Francis Forkey Doe and Ramez Dayoub, will again be key if the Red Giants are to push for victory after their emphatic display last Friday.
ATM, however, have little to shout about after they dropped points to a struggling Negeri Sembilan side that haven’t had a victory since week one of the 2013 MSL season.
Despite that, ATM will be gunning for revenge after the 3-2 penalty shootout defeat to the Red Giants in the first round of the FA Cup which saw the teams level with two goals each at the end of extra time. The Selangor custodian, Norazlan Razali, will be looking to replicate similar form in this game to keep out ATM's strikers.
Last time these two teams met, it was a game with end-to-end action and fans can expect nothing less when the Gladiators play hosts to the Red Giants on Tuesday night.
The physical altercation that happened between Selangor striker Afiq Azmi and the ATM players will surely be a factor in Tuesday’s match. Expect the referee to look to take control of proceedings by flashing his cards incessantly.
Afiq was deemed to be one who provoked B. Sathianathan's men but the former has since pleaded his innocence.
The two teams will meet at the Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Seremban on Tuesday night. Kick-off has been scheduled for 8.45pm.
