Terengganu FA head coach E. Elavarasan has confirmed that his side will be playing several friendly matches during the ongoing league break, in a bid to improve their poor form this year. The Turtles have not won a single match in the league so far this season and they are currently sitting at the bottom of the table.
Elavarasan's side has been severely criticised for their poor form. To make matters worse, thier talismanic striker Jean Emmanuel Effa Owona hasn't been performing as well. Now, Terengganu intends to make full use of the three-week break to work on their weaknesses before the league resumes.
"This Monday, we will be playing a friendly match against Shahzan Muda. We are also planning another one against Tumpat FC, though the date hasn't been finalised yet," he told Utusan Malaysia.
"We certainly hope that these matches will allow our players to gain more confidence and improve themselves before the league resumes later this month."
Terengganu's only win this this year came in the the FA Cup against KL SPA, where they won 3-1. When the league resumes on 15 February, the Turtles' next challenge will be in a home game against a strong Perak side at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium.
