Both teams started the match with a cagey approach as the ball spent much of the time in the midfield with both teams trying to take control of possession.
The defending champions, Kelantan were quick to take control of the game early in the match with Indra Putra Mahyuddin wasting a glorious chance to lead early in the first half.
Felda United on the other hand, tried to break down Khairul Fahmi's defence by shooting from outside of the penalty box, but attempts from Nizam Abu Bakar, Nor Akmal and Muhammed Ghaddar went wide past the goal.
In the second half, Felda United started brightly but Ghaddar missed an easy tap-in in front of the goal after Fauzi made a great run from the right.
The Red Warriors forwards, with Keita Mandjou missing through injury, were not able to break the discplined Felda United's defence and experienced goalkeeper Helmi Eliza.
Kelantan did manage to put the ball inside the net in the second half but it was disallowed by the referee because of offside.
The visitors kept attacking with influential captain Badrul Radzi and Shakir Shaari bossing the midfield but they lacked the quality finishing as they failed to convert chances into goals. On the other hand, the home side led by goalkeeper Helmi Eliza kept Kelantan's forwards at bay with some resilient defending.
The Red Warriors controlled the second half and created more chances late in the game but they were unable to find the winning goal and Felda United managed to hold on for a draw.
