The LionsXII made it two successive 1-0 victories in as many games against Selangor FA on Saturday, as they kept up their good start to the 2013 Malaysian Super League (MSL) season. They will look to stay top of the table with another three points on Tuesday night against Selangor PKNS, with the match being played at the Shah Alam Stadium.
The Red Ants are currently marooned at the bottom of the table having lost both their opening games. A 2-1 defeat away to Kelantan FA was followed by a 3-1 home loss to ATM FA, making them the only side in the MSL not to have picked up any points so far.
Both sides met four times last year, twice each in the league and Malaysia Cup, and PKNS coach Abdul Rahman Ibrahim will be happy if they can repeat the two 1-0 home successes against the visitors.
Liberian international Patrick Wleh will be missing the match after being he was sent off against ATM, with former Bayern Munich youth player Rudie Ramli likely to replace the striker. The loss of Wleh, dubbed 'Ronaldinho', will be a blow given a stout LionsXII defence that has collected two clean sheets so far.
At the other end, the LionsXII have been goal-shy thus far but they might find more joy against Fadhil Hashim and Frenchman Helmi Loussaief, with the PKNS back-line having already shipped five goals.
Behind the duo, Hafiz Sujad will look to continue his fine form in central midfield after two sterling performances in his debut MSL season. The ex-Young Lions captain has a wicked left foot, and will be a threat from set pieces.
Commanding centreback Safuwan Baharudin will likely miss out due to National Service commitments, so Shakir Hamzah should return to partner Baihakki Khaizan in central defence.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 8.45pm at the Shah Alam Stadium.
