The shot-stopper thanked the Perak fans, who mostly flocked in numbers to the Lumut Stadium, all the way from Ipoh
This however, failed to deter many of the Perak fans, who still flocked in numbers into the Lumut stadium all the way from Ipoh. And Farizal Marlias was evidently delighted with the passion shown by the fans.
"I would like to thank the fans for their unwavering support towards us. I understand that most of them are from Ipoh and its not near for them to come. But they did and that shows how much passion they have for the team," he told reporters after the game.
As for the game itself, both sides lacked tenacity upfront, as it often evolved into a scrappy affair in midfield. Despite the game looked destined to head towards a stalemate, Perak managed to secure a last-gasp victory, courtesy of an own goal.
"I thought we didn't play quite well today but I'm happy to just take the victory an all three points. Hopefully we can continue to improve in future matches."
Perak's new foreign signing Rafael Novais made his official debut in this match and was impressive at the heart of defence alongside Shahrom Kalam. Additionally, it was his initial header that was deflected onto Mazlizam and subsequently into the goal to give Perak a dramatic injury time victory.
"I thought Rafael did well infront of me today. Alongside Shahrom, they performed well and managed to stop the threat of Caleb Folan from the T-Team side."
