Head coach of Darul Takzim FC, Fandi Ahmad, believes his players can live up to the expectations as being favourites for this season's Super League
For their fans, the past few months have been an exciting rollercoaster ride as Darul Takzim FC, formerly known as Johor FC, have brought in many quality players.
Spain International Dani Guiza, who represented Spain in Euro 2008, joined the club this season alongside former Lazio player Simone Del Nero. They also have added some local flavour with the signings of Malaysian internationals such as Safee Sali, Safiq Rahim, Norsharul Idlan, Aidil Zafuan and Azmi Muslim.
Speaking to espnstar, Fandi said that they are all excited for the first game. "We have build a new team and maybe it is time we show our ability on the pitch. As you can see, we have signed a few top players and our first game against Pahang will be a good test."
Fandi also believes that they can live up to the early expectations from the public who call them the favourites for the league this season. "We have been picked as one of the favourites but we can only prove it on the field. I believe we have to a build a strong team and players have to prove to me that they can play well."
The former Singapore striker hopes they can start off a good campaign by beating Pahang at home.
