After their 4-1 friendly victory over current Super League Champions Kelantan, head coach Ismail is confident his new look team can beat anyone in the Malaysian League
With the new season due to kick off in less than a week, Sime Darby are getting ready for battle after beating champions Kelantan 4-1 in a friendly match.
Despite the dominant victory, head coach Ismail Zakaria told Sinar Harian that the performance didn’t truly reflect his team’s real ability, as 80% percent of his team are new players and they can still further gel together.
According to Ismail, this season Sime Darby have only kept six players from last season. For that reason, it will take time for better understanding to be created between the players. Ismail was quoted as saying, "we have managed the best understanding and communication so far from all the friendlies, and it will only give us confidence to achieve our target, playing in the Super League in 2014."
"Our will and determination has inspired us to beat a great team like Kelantan. This shows how our players can fight against any teams," he added.
After seven friendlies, Ismail now has a clear picture of who is he going to play in their first league match next week when they visit Johor.
