PFA president wants bookie-free season for Perlis

Perlis Football Association's (PFA) president has declared war against any bookies who wants to interrupt their football for next season
President of Perlis Football Association (PFA), Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim, believes his team can be amongst the elite in the Premier League, if they were bookie-free.

Speaking to Sinar Harian, he said that the arrival of bookies has caused crime in football and Perlis will try their best to stop them, so that what happened last season would not happen again this time around.

"Players should not hide themselves when the bookie goes to them. They just need to tell me how much the bookie offered them, and I will pay them much higher, but of course, the player need to be rested for a few games," he added.

Shahidan believes, by using that method, it can trap the bookies who he claimed brought Perlis down last season. He is confident that Perlis can play well if the match is clean and free from any bribery. It was also commented that the Perlis team looks more energetic this season and that their main objective is to become Premier League champions.
